Team proposals

Team A
LookHear

Team A's proposal for the LookHear campaign included design suggestions to insert new layers to the existing environment. The campaign urged people to think about how they can ask for help without being embarrassed. The proposal focused on the problem and used design to enhance the impact.

Team B
Wisdom Library

This proposal made the wisdom and knowledge of the older generation visible by engaging and enabling younger people. Wisdom Library is a local database that aims to encourage mutual exchanges and show younger people how much knowledge older people have. The idea was inspired by the teams creative partner who has a depth of knowledge on local history, and has been living in the area for over 35 years.

Team C
Gold Pal

Gold Pal asks why so few younger people are involved in volunteering. The scheme works as a reward system to encourage younger people to be volunteers and work with older volunteers so that they can learn from each other's experiences. It aims to do this by rewarding them with local discount vouchers.

Team D
Ken Help

Another method to address the problem of younger people not volunteering is by using Ken Help. This proposal involves an online registration system for younger people to be 'guerrilla volunteers' and offer adhoc help to older people in the local area. Design for an ageing population is not only about offering inclusive products for consumption but also to offer important services to other people.
