Notes for Presenters

Oral paper presentations

Each session will last 75 minutes consisting of five oral presentations followed by a panel discussion. Parallel paper sessions will take place on Monday 6 April and Tuesday 7 April at 14:00-15:15 and 16:15-17:30.

Instructions:

  • Each oral presentation should last a maximum of 10 minutes.
  • This will be followed by 20-25 minutes of audience questions and a panel discussion at the end of the session.
  • The presentation will be introduced by the session chair who will also direct questions during the panel discussion.
  • All presenters are requested to keep strictly to timings and explain concisely the key questions, ideas and findings.
  • Presenting authors must be present for the complete session, not just for their presentation.

As we want to actively generate group discussion in each session, questions will not be taken after each presentation but instead, all presenters will be invited to form a panel at the end of the session. The session chair will initially take questions for to clarify individual presentations, followed by a general discussion on the session theme.
